Had same issue 2 nights ago EZE-IAD.
Treid checking in online, but system insisted I needed an onward ticket from the US (even though im a PR) haha, amusing and frustrating, but just wated at airport for boarding pass. If I did not have check in bags, it would have been annoying as the system is clearly bonkers.
