My husband and I are flying YYZ to KOA (Hawaii) on April 5th/10 in Economy. These tickets are Aeroplan reward tickets purchased in June/09. My husband recently became an Elite member and was given two "top tier" upgrade certificates. It says they are "special system wide".

Can we use these upgrade certificates on reward travel? If yes, how do we do that? Details would be greatly appreciated. If no, is there any other way to possibly get upgraded?

I am a newbie on this site, but I have tried to find the info myself. I have been browsing for several hours, and am now blurry eyed and would appreciate any help you can give me.
