Have you tried telephoning Emirates in Dubai (+971 4 214 4444)? Often they seem to be able to 'swing' things that local offices can't?
May not help but is worth a shot?

JGX I read your msg little late just paid £250 to my TA (bargain as not paid £480) , I don't want any extra hassles with the immigration ( :
I never thought about that before but I would ask some immigration people on BHX airport lets see what do they say?
