The minimum is 500 miles, not 1,000. (Though if you're on a premium first, business, or coach fare -- i.e., F, A, J, Y, B, M -- you get 750 miles).

I think Delta is the only airline to still have the 500 mi minimum for all members, not just current elites, which is very nice.
