Are you in the UK? If you are then it is the travel agents responsibility to get the name correct as they normally ask for the passport when they do a booking face to face. Did they check your passport and if they did and still made the error, I would get them to pay any costs towards the mistake.
Either way it shouldnt cost that much to rectify as once my brother decided not to travel and therefore as the ticket had already been paid for, the agent managed to transfer it to the name of another family member. It might be a good idea to check the ticket rules.
Makes me angry when travel agents or companies in general always try to milk a customer for all they have.
Yeah we are in the UK. I booked the holiday on the phone and travel agent did send me an email if I want to have any other corrections, so I can't blame my mistake on her. ) :
