FYI - It it very déclassé to be using "Dato" or "Tan Sri" in your profile while flying MH, if you are not a real "Dato" or "Tan Sri" etc and do not hold the title legitimately. Not to mention illegal, under Malaysian law.

Chances are you will run into a real Dato and Tan Sri while flying MH in F and J - and KUL is a very small place, everyone knows everyone. Prepared to be embarrassed.

Simmilarly, ditto while flying BA. As much as I would love to be his Lordship meFIRST, while flying BA FIRST. (wow that rhymes)

Sad...Sad... MH. I remember when that airline was quite nice 10-15 years ago. The elite frequent flyer concept doesn't really exist on MH, its not fully integrated to the staff, or the service. The airline was state owned for years, and the was the only game in town. Most people didn't mind, because it was on par wtih SQ for years. That mentality continues. But the reality is ....SQ has become a substancially better airline, and a global ambassador for all things "singapore", and MH is still stuck in 1993, before Tajuddin Ramli took it over.

As I understand it, the Malaysian country club set (you know who you are) have all switched to SQ. [except those that are connected to Putrajaya/the government, these folks have to fly MH, no choice). Those with choice fly Singapore. This exodus to SQ started in the mid 90s and has continued on since. Singapore being only 45 minutes away from KUL and not a bad place to change planes actually.

Most Malaysians can't stand Singapore (check out our history) , we make exceptions for the airline.
