Again, unless these Americans are planning to spend the entire summer in Europe, or unless they are planning to fly RTW and return to the U-S on a TPAC flight, then supply and demand would be more or less equal both ways. I'm inclined to think it has more to do with the OP's specific dates than with any larger trend.
