Can someone explain the H-Up fare with Delta? I know it shows up as coach and costs more than a Coach discounted ticket but I have been told that you can than choose a First class seat if any of them are available or if the flight has first class is that true? Or do you have to choose a regular coach ticket and than either during online checkin or at the gate they move you up at that time? If that is the case are you in line behind the Elites to get that seat or not?

We are going on vacation over Memorial day and my daughter and her family and we are trying to set it up that we all fly into Atlanta than are on the same flight from their to RSW. The way it works out my daughter has to fly back earlier by herself with am 19 month old and would love to see her be able to get first class.

No I do not have Elite status because living where I do in Michigan and traveling for work I have to fly 3 or 4 different airlines and just miss the Elite status on a few of them.
