Thanks guys - so will stick with QFF for the time being, until I become George Clooney flying on J/F!
Jase76 - have you looked at the Lloyds Airmiles and BMI cards, for use in the UK? Don't know what your typical credit card spend will be like, but:
- Airmiles good for shorthaul routes in Europe, because you can turn Tesco points in to Airmiles (not just BA miles) to earn quicker, and the miles cover the tax, so it's ideal for short little trips in economy. Also, you get 1500 miles when you open the card (if you go through the airmiles website), which is enough for a nice little city break.
- BMI good for saving up your points for a biggie, as it gives you a nice kicker of ~20K miles when you take out the card, you earn faster than on the BA Amex, and the miles get you further when you redeem. Plus you can redeem cash+miles on the whole of Star, whereas I believe with BAEC on OW you can only redeem full miles.
Hope that helps your UK earnings!
