there are some bad apples in the IC properties, but Hyatts are generally more consistent
Please....

First of all, one has to differ between Hyatt International and Hyatt US properties:

Hyatt US

Hyatt Place = ( Suites at a new and very modern Holiday Inn Express )
Hyatt Summerfield = Staybridge ( Summerfield's tend to have more spacious suites and less studio suites )

After the two extended stay brands, it becomes difficult. The vast majority of Crowne Plaza's , Hyatt Regency's and Interconti's are rated AAA 3 Diamond. The newer IC's are able to compete with Grand Hyatt properties in the US, Park Hyatt is in a league where IHG has nothing to offer. Andaz is far more upscale than Indigo ( construction cost per room and guest/employee ratios ) Hyatt Resorts are far more upscale than Crowne Plaza resorts, although at least CP Resort Hilton Head has a 4 Diamond rating by the AAA

Hyatt International:

Holiday Inn Express ( 3*) = not offered by Hyatt
Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza ( 3*, mostly 4* ) = not offered by Hyatt
Interconti ( 5* ) = Hyatt Regency ( construction cost per room and guest/employee relation is higher for most Hyatt Regency's )
High end Interconti (5*) = high end Hyatt Regency / Grand Hyatt
not offered by IHG = high end Grand Hyatt ( properties like Tokyo, Shanghai, some are rated Top 100 )
not offered by IHG = Park Hyatt ( some are rated Top 50 on the planet )
