boo hoo .. Alaska has dumped the non-stop flights from LAX to Cancun.

The 4.5 hour trip upcoming in june has been switched to a 10 hour adventure on mexicana airlines with a lay over in mexico city. I booked that flight for 3 with Alaska miles, starwood points and cash = $500 total RT for 3 -so am not complaining too much)

But ... I would love any info to help me decide what credit card /airline to switch to now that Alaska is outa the game.

I travel LAX to Cancun twice a year.

I am a small fish and collect miles traveling and as a hobby.

My hubby and I each have B of A credit cards and have enjoyed using the companion tickets for the kids.

On the Alaska CC, I earn about 60-80K miles per year and hubby about 30k

I also have starwood, hilton, marriott about 50 k each a year and earn a free flight on southwest a year. I use United for mall shopping and dining program and earn about 30K every other year.

my goal is to keep flying on the cheap to cancun non-stop via LAX .
