I just treated myself to my first Rimowa. Doing some research, I found that it has been mentioned several times that they are cheaper in Germany than in other countries (quite a surprise for me, I buy most high value goods abroad ).

I found Koffer-Direkt ("Luggage Direct") in Germany and thought it might be worth sharing with you.

For example:
Rimowa Topas Jumbo Trolley (74cm / 29")
US Price (what froogle displayed): $1050
Price at Koffer-Direkt (ex. Tax for Non-EU): €427,73 - 6% (automatically on orders over €350!) = €402,07.

Shipping to the US, Japan and Romania is €50 with DHL, so that makes €452 = ~$612 delivered (plus applicable import taxes / fees).

Additionally, there are some Vouchercodes out there (e.g. €5 if you sign up for their newsletter) and if you are willing and able to pay in advance into their bank account, you would get another 5% off!

It appears however, that they got excellent Service. I ordered a Rimowa on Sunday, paid in advance (onlinebanking via the same bank in Germany), they received and confirmed the payment on Monday and it arrived today! I am seriously impressed about that. Unfortunately I couldn't check the delivery yet, since I had it delivered to my German office and am abroad until Friday.

The only downside seems to be that that their website is in German only.
