Angry Step right up! Circus "security" at YYZ

I arrived this morning for a MR (YYZ-ORD-TPA-DEN-SFO), about 80 mins out.

Came to YYZ via the TTC and filled my TDC out on the way... The annoying customs guardians made me jam my bag into their sizer and were giving me a rough time of it, made it through them eventually (no lineup), scanned irises, and got to the "security" zone. I was refused entry into the "premium" line as I am only a lowly 1K flying in F...

First stop, check your weight on the magical pad, which as far as I can tell is just a random number generator that eliminates the possibility that a human might be able to pick out who is more of a threat than a coin toss.

The pad decided that this 1K with Nexus was likely to be packing some serious trouble I was greeted by a guy who was nice but took for-fracking-ever to go through my stuff, I had it all taken out before he asked for my shoes and laptop, I'm like "its all in the bins". He swabs it all, negative ("shocking"), and then I get a 5 minute wait for some of the zombies to finish off with other passengers through the WTMD, nothing, but then I'm wanded down and guided to the "magic mirrors" (body scanner) which takes about 15 seconds, then it took another 10 minutes for my zombie to rifle through all my stuff, finally getting the OK.

In total, it took about 30 minutes for the whole circus. Throughout the process there were tons of agents dealing with pax, and an equal number standing around. I guess they're doing their part to keep unemployment down.

When leaving Tel Aviv it takes about 5 minutes between both security processes including walking time.

I found the process to be infuriating and stupid, particularly with regard to the lackadaisical pace at which the agents
