Another "different" hotel is the JW Shanghai. It is the top of a 60 story tower. The CL is one of the best I've been in anywhere in the world in any hotel. The hotel has what it bills as the worlds highest library. And whats really neat is there is a "secret" door in the library that will lead you to a balcony with one of the best views of Shanghai's skyline period. I've been there twice and was upgraded to an awesome suite room both times.

In the US, the Harbor Beach Marriott is my favorite beach Marriott anywhere. It is a beautiful hotel with an awesome stretch of private beach, a great pool, and a very nice spa. It is a great resort property.

As mentioned, there are also some very nice RCs. The Cayman RC is definitely one of my favorite resorts as well.

I've read a bit about and would love to visit "Wentworth by the Sea" in NH. I think it is more of an "old world" type of hotel where they pamper their customers.

Another hotel that I have been to that is worth checking out is "The Grand Hotel" just outside of Mobile, AL. It is a converted 19th century Southern Plantation house. It's not on the beach, but it has a great atmosphere and services.

If you want to go to London, Marriott has quite a few extremely nice and high end hotels to choose from. I like the Ren Chancery Court, but there are a couple of more that are worth visiting as well. ^ In Paris, the Marriott Champs Elysees is a great hotel to visit, though I think it may have some award restrictions there. I seem to remember someone telling me the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel is an "experience" and not just a hotel.

A really neat pair of hotels to try out are the two Marriotts in Cairo, Egypt. One is on the Nile itself and back in the 1800s used to be a palace. (How many places can you say you slept where kings and queens lived. ) So it has not only an awesome location, but quite a bit of history as well. There is also a JW Cairo hotel that is very new. It is billed as a business resort hotel. It has a very nice water park and a beautiful and unique lobby and grounds area. It has a very nice and large CL, plus it has a few two level suite rooms that you might be able to get an upgrade to. ^
