So, I just got back from Asia, and realize that I might have to go again in a week or two.

I need to get my passport renewed. I've made an appointment at a Passport Agency, have my pictures... but the only outstanding issue is, I need to bring proof.

My thinking is, because I don't know if I will truly be leaving in a week or two, is...

I buy a ticket on United (cuz that's what I fly), print out the itinerary and reciept, and then within 24-hours, cancel it, full refund no fees.


Does anyone know if the US Passport Agency actually double checks to make sure the itinerary is valid???

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
