That was scary. But I don't mean the question of whether the crew could land the aircraft -- it was scary listening to how incapable the Russian tower & ground controller were of communicating with the pilots. It seemed to me that the ground had no idea that the a/c was disabled on an active runway...one can only hope that the tower at least did know.

It was almost laughable at the end, when the pilots asked if the tower or ground had notified Company...
