We do like the location and the ambiance of Puerto Madero, although we don't know Buenos Aires at all. A lot of other restaurants are within walking distance in the old restored dock buildings - even a Hooters, although Mrs. Fredd and I arrived at a consensus not to patronize it, instead enjoying several meals at Carletto's, literally at the back door of the Hilton. It's also within walking distance of the Casa Rosada. You can see it from the balcony of that "presidential suite" that is serving as the temporary lounge and watch the president's helicopter arrive and depart from time to time.

Of course taxis are still quite cheap compared to many other places in the world and readily available so you can get anywhere without a lot of expense.
