Most likely yes. The rule of thumb is the baggage rules of the first carrier are those in effect. That said it is AS and there have been reports of "waivers and favors", your best bet is likely the MVP/MVPG checkin area.
Incorrect. Whomever your ticket is on is the decider for checked baggage. My guess is that your ticket is on QX and not AS, which means QX defines the checked baggage information. Call AS and verify.
