I can only report that we didn't encounter the DCC scam at all.
Like I said upthread, I am 3/40, which is just shy of 2%. This means that the bad eggs are out there, but they haven't spoiled the party yet.
My most recent battle is with travelzen.com. These guys mandate DCC and there is no workaround.
