I'm thinking of going to Madagascar on a side trip from South Africa or Kenya. I'm looking for decent hotels in the $50-$75 range per day.

I prefer to stay at one of the hotel chains I have status in, but that seems to be quite lacking in the country. No Hyatt or Priority Club (Holiday Inn, ect), that I can see.

I've also read some reports of sporadic electricity. As someone who uses a Cpap machine to sleep, this worries me a bit.

Any other tips, I would appreciate. I'd probably stay 2-3 weeks.
