To all those who doubt that the airlines need to ban wireless mice (and/or other devices), please elaborate with:
- Details of your technical knowledge of airplane electronics (experience, professional designations, etc) so we all can be sure you know what you are talking about.
- Details of what devices you would allow that may not currently be allowed, why, and how you would police it on an airplane in a practical way (eg if you would allow bluetooth mice but not RF mice)
- Why you think the airlines would disallow devices if they rally don't cause any problems.
Personally I don't know anything about airplane electronics, but I am comfortable that the airlines aren't banning use of devices just for fun or to cause unnecessary grief to their customers, and that they probably have to cast a wide net of what is banned because it isn't practical to police them on a device/model by device/model basis.
