I hereby report the first FAIL. Not so much the failure to actually be upgraded, but the failure to even make the request.

When Cleared - Try when requested. I logged on to check whether my UG had gone through and didn't see an upgrade or a waitlist. I called the 1K desk to see what was going on. The nice HNL agent and I were shocked to find out that an upgrade had not been requested at the 100 hour window. She immediately requested, but I was waitlisted on LAX-MCO. She did confirm me in F on my connecting flight to IAD the next morning.
