I have been thinking about this a little more since the announcement on Friday and from a personal point of view (rather than a 'branding' point of view) I am actually starting to like the various options being put forward. Especially the flexibility to choose Seat only and pay an extra $6-8 for a pie and a ginger ale on board, which is sometimes all I really want.

It would however be really good if Air NZ could reconsider its policy on seat request and change it to allow it for all fare types as per current policy (especially if it is all about choice... I want my window!) I don't mind them blocking off the front half of the cabin for Works fares + elites, but even Jetstar allows its pax to seat request!

Also not strictly TT related but it would be good if Air NZ could roll out check-in kiosks for flights other than to Australia - I understand IATA are doing a huge push on this worldwide so hopefully it is something they are working on anyway. Can't stand being stuck behind people who have no idea what they are doing and faff around for ages with overweight baggage, or not having the correct travel documentation, or trying to check in some 50 kg box...

And Bruce, thanks for giving up your [non-wall-painting bit of your] weekend to answer our questions - very much appreciated.
