Maybe she was on a same day mileage run. When she was booking her trips with such a short stay, the reservation agent exclaimed "That's such a short trip!". She said, I have to return Efrem's toothpaste.
May I use that as an excuse for a mileage run when the airline staff or CBP ask me why I took such a short trip?
