Cost $48, and
worth $48, are two completely different things.
http://www.ratelasvegas.com/buffets/buffetrank.html puts it about in the middle of the pack for buffets. I've never heard much buzz about it. If I was going to be spending ~$25 for dinner, I'd have at least a handful of places I'd go to first.

If it is included, the MGM buffet is 'fine'. I wouldn't pay the going rate though for it. There is better for similar money, say at the Bellagio.
