Just about every guide online says the ferry/boats are the "romantic" way of getting into Santorini.

Yeah, okay, I know they're marketing pieces, but, what makes it THAT bad? And it's not as if we don't have time? We'll be on Santorini for 4 nights as part of a 3 week Europe trip. The ferry really won't make it anymore special?

Honestly, I'm fine with flying. I've just checked A3 and there's a one way tix for EUR 48 per person and it leaves at 11am .. definitely more civilized than an early wake-up + trek to port + 7am ish ferry departure.

How about if I wait for the speedboat schedules to come out?

I looked at this like I would look at a train ride across Europe ... slow, relaxing, and romantic (well, for me at least). No?

Surely someone whose sig says "New York to London via Bangkok" would understand?
