I don't care how good the service is, it's totally unacceptable to only offer chicken or fish in longhaul F.

I've flown SQ F out of LAX many times, and they always offer 5-6 outstanding main course choices - in addition to another dozen Book-the-Cook choices.

Shame on Qantas.
All QF departures from LAX (except the 1x/daily to JFK) are red-eye flights, leaving ~11pm. There's probably little if any demand for a full dinner; a better lounge meal (or a BA-style dine in the lounge arrangement) would probably be more valuable.

If anything, the breakfast offering on those flights should be the deciding factor.
