Thanks! They did, in fact, waive the resort fee for the gov't rate.

My visit there was not spectacular. In fact, we ended up cancelling the remainder of our stay after just one night.

First, the good: the grounds were spectacular. Nice pools, hot tubs, a water slide, gardens, a life-sized chess set, and plenty of places to stroll. The bar and restaurant was great - decent food and good atmosphere.

Upon check-in, I was given a letter that offered me the following amenities on my stay:
- One category room upgrade
- Late check-out
- Welcome beverage for two guests (up to $14 each)
- Two bottles of their house water
- TWO of the following: 1000 HHonors pts, 1 free movie, or a 20% discount both at the spa and at the restaurant.

My room was in the main section of the hotel. The room itself was dated, old, and not all that spectacular. My "upgrade" was that my room opened up onto a shared deck that overlooked the front of the hotel. There was evidence of smoking on the deck. My room was actually smaller than a no-status colleague down the hall.

Normally, I'd have complained, but I was tired from my trip. So in the morning, I just decided to leave and move somewhere else. At check-out, no one asked why I was leaving or how my stay was, so I just didn't want to deal with it. I sent an email to the manager, hoping to get a response that would lure me back there in a day or so, but I didn't hear from him until a week or so later. He was very nice and courteous and offered to help with my reservation next time, but I'm not sure if there'll be one.
