I'd choose the D side for PHX-SMF. Depending on weather, winds aloft etc, it's possible you could get a look at Vegas, or even GC..it's a long shot.
PHX-SMF flights tend to take a more southerly route. Though occasionally will head straight for Vegas and then over to SMF.
