SQ, as I've read in the SQ forum and on their website, is blocking F upgrade to the A380, and charges standard and full awards for their new F product on the 777-300ER's. That's 200k miles for SIN-FRA F upgrade, for example.
For 60k miles on an off-peak, I can get a round trip F upgrade on OZ from ICN-JFK (and in fact am already confirmed).
You have to decide for yourself how bad the catering cut backs really are. If you fly OZ, don't forget that you can pre order meals ex ICN which is highly recommended.
The reason why they block F upgrade on the A380 is because there is not F. SQ has Y, C, F and Suites and the A380 is classified as suites.
And for your purposes you don't need to look what SQ is charging their Frequent Flyers for upgrades and awards, you need to look what OZ is charging for upgrades on SQ. The problem there will be to get any upgrade at all other than on a 747.
