Warning posted on Delta.com
I was convinced by other comments on another forum, and now I got a virus warning on my PC.
PLEASE CHANGE THIS POST TO A WARNING!!!
Please educate yourself before posting erroneous information that will needlessly scare people. If you navigate your browser to anything on the delta.com domain, it cannot be a phishing attempt/scam unless either Delta is responsible for it or their server has been compromised. Both of these possibilities are *extremely* remote.
If you click on a link that is masked as delta.com but actually isn't their domain, then you could be looking at a scam, but you'd first want to look at who owns the alternate domain. As has already been noted, Delta and many other companies outsource their promotions to third parties who use third party domains. If you aren't willing to do the legwork to be sure that you are dealing with a legitimate domain, then err on the side of caution, but don't proceed to post false information here.
