Never heard of this place, but I looked it up and it is in Ohara, which is about an hour out of Kyoto. Having said that, Ohara is a really neat town with some excellent temples all within a few minutes walk of each other. The Sanzen-in, Jikko-in, and Hosen-in temples are some of the nicest in Kyoto, and they are a few minutes walk from the ryokan. If you go on a weekday, you should have the place to yourself.
