When you check in for your flight, be it On line Check in(OLCI) or at the gate, if there are seats avail. in F/C cabins, then Mr. Chicken at the gates or OLCI will give you an option to pay cash. Last week, flying from MUC to IAD, I was offered Around 437.00 euro. or the equivelent to US 500.00 there abouts. It is possible that if seats remain, they may upsale at the gate also.
