I am trying to get tickets for family for a MNL-ATL trip. I was looking for an alternative to direct booking (to save $1000) and I thought of this.
1. Have them book a KE revenue flight to LAX.
2. Book a DL award from LAX to ATL for them.
1. My questions are, would the inter-airline check-in benefit work?
2. How do they do this, would they just present the DL reservation to the KE desk?
3. Are missed connections and sending luggage to the final destination taken cared of if I do this?
Thanks guys.
1) It normally works when I travel on two tickets.
2) Yes.
3) If it possible to put both tickets together in one single ticket (unlikely to be possible, by why not calling FB?), they will take care of missed connections. Otherwise they won't (unless you are extremely lucky or important). Luggage is always taken care of because they have to send the luggage to you.
