Just FWIW, one can confirm 4 F seats without any interaction on a a certain large airline with hubs in FRA/MUC, and that too, using other alliance's miles...Jet makes me WL for more than one, that too in biz.

(When taking the family on an award trip, one does not want the tension of not having a confirmed seat! )
