Yupz, I have been to White Plains last year, and I like the surrondings in which the area is rather convenient as there are malls / hypermarts and train station within walking distance.

Planning to take the train to GCT then to NY downtown for sight-seeing,
and shopping at Macy and Union Square.

Also in White Plains, there is a bus service to Woodbury.
