CMN is not worth the stopover IMHO. Plenty of interesting places in Morocco but CMN.. not so much. Given that your tour is going from RAK, that even adds to the benefit of getting one award to Europe and then buying a ticket from there.
SFO-IAD-MAD (on UA/EI) or SFO-XXX-CDG seem like your best bet.
