My experience would say no. I flew MAN-DXB-BKK and return, with only the DXB-BKK in J, the rest in Y.

As my connection between MAN-DXB and DXB was a very short connection, I asked if I could use the Emirates lounge at MAN, but I was politely declined.

In the end I had time for an orange juice in the lounge at Dubai before catching my connection
