After completing the guest comment card from a stay a few weeks ago I recently received this letter from the GM:
I am also pleased to advise that next week we will be commencing a rooms renovation programme. The work will be undertaken progressively over the coming months and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2010. In this stage Regency Club rooms on floors 9 and 8 plus guestrooms on floor 7 will be completely redesigned and floors 5 and 4 will undergo a soft refurbishment. In addition to this, every room in the hotel will be upgraded to include new doors with electronic locking system and flat-screen LCD televisions. Work on the remaining rooms of the hotel will take place early 2011.
It does sound like there will be 'old' rooms and newly refurbished and even completely newly designed rooms.
