FS KH have done a lot more work since 2007 and have widened the pathways and created a new fitness centre and kid's club, etc etc. If you stay in an entry-level beach bungalow, then yes, they are still quite dark and a bit cramped, although they now all have private pools, whereas before they didn't. You have to go up to the next level for real space and light, or ideally take an overwater which are stunning.
In fact there is not more space between the beach accommodations at FS LG. The Beach Villas have large sandy gardens with big pools, but you can really hear your neighbours when they are out in their gardens, whereas, of course, at OORR, accommodation is so private and with so much private beach that you are hardly aware that there are other guests.
I also find that FS LG is messily designed. The overwaters are great but the beach villas are, IMHO, poorly designed, maintained and furnished, apart from the bathrooms. Great restaurants, though, and stunning beaches.
