AA does not consider Canada to be 'International' for the purposes of upgrades (stickers are allowed), BUT, you cannot use the kiosks in the US because it is considered 'International' in that you need a 'Docs OK' stamp on your BP.

Canada is considered 'International' for Duty Free though - best of both worlds really!!
