How interesting. I was stationed at Ft. Bliss in the late 70s and ate at Swanky Franky's several times.
The pizza I remember had a crust on the top as well as the bottom. It was truly a "pizza pie;" and I seem to remember it as being very good.
The name, for some reason, is embedded into my memory, as is the pizza. It blew me away seeing mention of the place in this formum I ran across while surfing.
Actually, toay is "Pi" day, and that thought-train resurrected the old memory...and for the heck of it...I googled the place.
Seeing the name, and hearing from people who have eaten there just blows me away. ...And also brings back a memory of a local girl, Sarah Sanchez, whom I took there on our first date. Cheap Chianti (I didn't know anything about wine, but the atmosphere seemed to
demand Chianti,) pizza pie, and this wonderful Mexican girl... What a great night.
Thanks for the happy memories
