I called yesterday and actually got a quote that was a few bucks cheaper than the AAA insurance we now have, witha 12 month guarantee instead of a six. The only catch is that (unlike the last two carriers we've had) they won't give gay domestic partners the same rates as marrieds unless we transfer auto title (right now the car is my partner's, and I'm an additional driver.) We have to find out how much a title transfer costs and how much fo a PITA it is before we proceed.
Also: if you're only doing it for the miles, be warned that they keep you on the phone a Looong time and ask you a lot of questions (whether you went to college, whether you own your home, etc.) that seem to have nada to do with cars.
