In terms of getting into the casino properties, the best deals are based on if you are a casino loyalty (player reward) member - best example would be Borgata's Red/Black label, typically the prices offered are a good 30% the given rate. Aside from that, the best properties for you to try (if this is midweek) is the Tropicana or the Trump Plaza. Tropicana has a more youthful scene at night on the weekends - with the Trump, you are right next door to Caesars which is always nice at night (dusk, Game On!, Trinity Pub).

For you though, try the Courtyard Marriott would probably be cheapest all around. Located in the Resorts/Taj Mahal region, you have good access to Casbah at the Taj and HOB at the Showboat.
