Really not worth getting upset about. Now when they stop providing a toll free number that will be the time to go ballistic.
Right you are. There are a few differences that are relevant here.
  • Some times NW explicitly excluded credit for flights taken within 4 or some number of hours of arrival at a destination.
  • True that I found mileage credit missing even on NW. One phone call took care of it right away without having to dig up your ticket number or boarding passes, even before I was anything on NW, way back in 1995. I called for credit just before the end of a year following my trip to HKG. I was not an elite then. NW did not ask me to send my BP's. Simply asked for the date and origin and destination of first segment and was able to pull up the entire itinerary using my FF number.
  • During the same time period, DL denied credit for flights taken on a partner even after I mialed copies of my boarding passes.
  • One would think that in 15 years, even at snails pace, Delta would have made some positive changes.
How one looks at it is a matter of opinion.
