Tiger is extremely inconvenient for connections at MEL as it isn't in the main pax terminal building. Instead it is in some converted hangars that are quite far down the road, sort of like walking over to the freight facility. They clearly don't expect anyone to be going between the two terminals so there are minimal facilities for doing so -- making this a particularly difficult connection. I'd guess that it takes 30 min just to get to the Tiger terminal with baggage. Like all LCC's, Tiger (and JQ) are sticklers for checking in on-time (even if the flight is delayed!). Your ticket becomes worthless if you are 10 seconds late, even if the flight is not actually operating and wont be leaving for hours. Anyone booking this tight of a connection from international arrival to LCC is simply asking for trouble. I suppose good trip insurance would cover it.
