I don't get that sense from this thread at all -- it was only brought up by those wanting to trash her story.
I don't think her 'celebrity', 'notoriety', or lack thereof even plays a role here. For the sake of further discussion, why not leave it completely out of the equation?
For me, the core issue at play in the OP's posting has always been whether or not the bulk of her experience, as reported, is truthful. If it is, then I think well more than 95% of us fully support the OP's decision to be damn angry about it.
Forget that you know ANYTHING about the OP or that you even read the posting here on FT. Let's say this came from a neighbor, a colleague or someone your brother-in-law works with.
