Went through the security line at CDG on United last October and thought we'd miss the flight. The UA rep at the ticket counter recommended going to security 1h before the flight. The RCC rep also gave the same guidance. We decided to add a little margin so went to security 1h 15m before the flight and there were about 30 people in line before us. Thought it should only take 15minutes to make it through...ended up taking an hour...almost missed the flight. While in the security line, UA announced my name over the loudspeaker asking where I was, but the security like folk really didn't care.
The flight ended up being delayed because there were still a lot of other UA passengers still in the security line after the scheduled departure time. Really thought I was going to see the passengers in the security line revolt...many were yelling at the security folk...not very pretty.
At least we had an upgrade on the flight in the new international cabin, the stress level from my wife and I thinking we'd miss the flight home quickly dissipated.
