I bought a black one in BKK after forgetting to pack my SD 850.

One day of carrying it around in my pocket produced a good four nicks down to the silver.

I bought a belt holster the next day and it's been fine since.

Of note - I gave away the 850 when I returned, the form factor of the 100is is perfect for P&S, walking around, casual street photography, etc. You'll pay a lot less if you get the US version, or so was my experience four months ago.
