My wife and two adult daughters are going to the Middle East in December. They spend 3 nights in Cairo and then fly Egypt Air to Jordan for 4 nights. They are staying one night at Marriott Petra and 3 nights at Dead Sea Marriott.
Here are my questions. Please note all 3 are "travel savvy"

1. Will they be safe with a car in Jordan?
2. Can they cross into the Holy Land from Jordan. Palestine or Israel?
3. If they do cross will there be a problem with Passports? They would not be going into any other countries on this trip. Older daughter makes annual trips to Egypt. Wife and younger daughter will probably make trip to Holy Land again in the next couple of years. This trip they would like to visit Bethlehem and Jericho which I believe are in the West Bank.

They have a private tour guide in Cairo that older daughter works with when she goes to Egypt. They are trying to decide on what to do about guides in Jordan.
